The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
