The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
