The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
