Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
