The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
