The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 weigh with an even balance 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
