The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
