The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 weigh with an even balance 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
