The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
