Alshu'araa' 10 of 11

The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
