The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
