Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
