The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
