The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
