The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
