The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
