The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
