The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 weigh with an even balance 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
