The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
