The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
