Alshu'araa' 10 of 11

The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
