The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
