The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 weigh with an even balance 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
