Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
