Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
