The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
