The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
