The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
