And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 To your heart that you may be a warner 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
