And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
