Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
