Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel peace be upon him.) 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
Almighty God's Truth.
