And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
