This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, – 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
