And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
