And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
