This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
