This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 They will therefore say, "Will we get some respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy the good things of life for a few years more, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, - 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
Almighty Allah's Truth.
