Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed it would have been different. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner, the magicians. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
