This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
