And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
