And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
