And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
