And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
