Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
