Alshu'araa' 11 of 11
Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
