Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
