And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
