And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
