Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
