The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta Sin! These are the verses of the Quran and the Book that makes (things) clear 1 They are glad news and guidance for the believers 2 Who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate, and of the Hereafter they are convinced. 3 We make their deeds attractive to those who do not believe in the Hereafter, so that they may wander in perplexity. 4 Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. 5 Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he reached it, he was called, saying: Blessed is Whosoever is in the fire and Whosoever is round about it! And Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds! 8 "O Moses! verily, I am Allah, the exalted in might, the wise!.... 9 Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, 10 "Except him who has done wrong and afterwards has changed evil for good, then surely, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 11 "Now place thy hand into thy bosom: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish!" [And thou shalt go] with nine [of My] messages unto Pharaoh and his people for, verily, they are people depraved!" 12 But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!" 13 and they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, wrongfully and out of pride. Behold, how was the end of the workers of corruption! 14
